It’s already the second quarter of the year and same as every year, some makeup trends come to stay, while some are more fleeting than a ghost ship.

Here are some trends that seem like they might be here for the long haul, and guess what they are super easy to achieve. So if you want to be that IT-girl, grab your pen and paper because you’re about to get schooled.

GO BOLD OR GO HOME:

It’s time to give that neutral toned eyeshadow a rest and go for a more colourful look. Bold colours are back! And it is certainly giving people a run for their money especially with the rave on neon-coloured eyes. If you’d rather a little less colour on the eyes you could go a colourful blue mascara instead. Remember ladies nothing screams pop of colour like vibrant looking eyes, so don’t be too shy to step out of your comfort zone and commit to a fun new shade.

FRESH FACED GLOW:

The obsession with the glow is definitely here to stay as everyone seems to be on the ever-glowing hunt for that extra dewy natural/radiant glow otherwise known as the glowy glass look. The first and most important step to achieving this is making sure your skin is properly taken care of starting with moisturizing and priming before makeup, this gives the skin a smooth and velvety finish. Remember good makeup starts with even better skin.

UNCONVENTIONAL EYELINER:

Black eyeliner might be taking a temporary back seat this year ladies in exchange for white and deep metallic coloured liners. This is especially great for people with smaller eyes as it opens it up and makes it look bigger. You can use it in the inner corners of your eyes, for the winged eye effect, on both your upper and lower eye lid or even all over your eyelid, depending on what type of look you’re going for.

RED LIPS:

You can never really go wrong with rocking a red lip, which is why this trend is an all time classic. Plus, it revamps any look with no time wasted at all.

INVISIBLE BROWS:

Asides having the extra full and natural brows, more people are beginning to experiment with bleaching their brows. This might seem a little over the top for some people but to all the extra daring ladies out there, this one is for you.

THE PINK EFFECT:

When it comes to eyes, cheeks and lips, pink is definitely still in season. This trend from 2018, is still a fan favourite and is making a definite come back with blush, shimmery eyeshadow, tinted balms and glossy lids.
These are some of the easy to do trends raving at the moment. So, if you’re looking to add a little something different to your makeup routine these are for you.
