While some women find walking in heels fun, some on the other hand, are so uncomfortable in it for one reason or the other. Because you might have to walk in heels once in your life no matter how much you detest it, we have come up with some helpful tips.

These tips will help you out:

  1. Take small steps

Wearing heels makes your steps shorter than usual, so you’ll have to take an increased number of small steps to go the same distance. A slight wiggle as you walk will work in any girl’s favour.

2. Walk heel to toe, not toe to heel

The easiest way to look like unattractive in heels is to put your whole foot down at once, as if you’re wearing flats. When wearing high shoes, put your heel down first, followed by your toe. This will make your walk look more natural and confident.

3. Lean slightly back

When in high shoes, you may find you want to walk faster than your heels will allow and end up craning your neck to compensate. So allow yourself to lean just a bit back when walking in heels, as this will counteract your desire to push your torso forward.

4. Make sure your shoe fits

If your shoes don’t fit well, it makes the difficult task of walking naturally in heels almost impossible. If your shoes are too wide, use shoe pads for a better fit. If they are too small, consider having them widened by a local cobbler.

5. Wear only heights you are comfortable in

Truth is, if your shoes feel too high to walk in,  then they probably will be too difficult for you to carry. But that doesn’t mean all is lost—so many midi and low heels exist these days and you can find the height that works best for you.

6. Arch your foot slightly

As you take each step, or if you feel yourself slipping, arch your foot slightly to put pressure on the inside of your shoe. This will make your shoe fit closer to your foot, making it easier to walk in.
