It sometimes seems like there’s no end to skincare needs and products. Every year, a new product seems to come out to combat a skin problem we’d never even thought about.
One of such problems is clogged pores, particularly with whiteheads and blackheads. Anyone who’s looked at their skin under a magnifying mirror would have seen some white or black substances that seemed embedded in their pores.
There are so many ways that blackheads and whiteheads can be removed, with some being more extreme others.
One method that is very popular on social media is the use of activated charcoal masks.
Charcoal masks are designed to harden once exposed to air and form a tight grip on the skin and when pulled off, take off black and whiteheads.
Some masks are better than others, but they all follow the same principle. If you have very sensitive skin, this might not be the best method for you and regardless of your skin type, you should speak with your dermatologist before you use a charcoal mask.
Charcoal mask directions:
1. Apply a steamed towel to your face for 3-5 minutes to open up the pores.
2. Apply the mask over the desired area, avoiding anywhere with hair.
3. Allow the mask to set for 15-25 minutes.
4. Peel off gently.
5. Rinse face with warm water to remove residue particles.
