Mary Njoku is an Actor, Producer, and CEO of ROK Studios.
Mary discovered her passion for acting from childhood and with the support of her mother, she started acting on-stage in Secondary school. In 2003 she joined the Nollywood industry at the age of 17.
she made her acting debut in the movie Home Sickness in 2004, but she came to the limelight after starring in the movie Blackberry Babes, in 2013.
Determined to tell stories through film, she proceeded to the London Film Academy in the UK where she studied a course in Producing: Movie Magic Budgeting & Schedule.
From 2011 to 2013, Mary produced iROKtv, a YouTube series that featured interviews with Nigerian celebrities, as well as coverage of Afrobeats and Nollywood events. In 2015, she became the Chief Content Officer at IROKO Partners. By March, she held her first world premier for her film Thy Will Be Done at the BFI IMAX London, the first ever Nollywood film premiere in IMAX.
In August 2013, Mary founded Rok Studios. ROK Studios has produced movies and TV series like Festac Town, Single Ladies, Body language, Losing Control and Husbands of Lagos.
In 2016, she launched Rok on Sky, a network airing across the UK. In the same year, she launched Rok on DSTV.
In April 2018, Rok Studios launched two new channels, ROK 2 and ROK 3, to meet growing demand of ROK on DSTV.
Mary has been nominated for several awards including nominated for The Futures Awards 2016 and EbonyLife Prize for Screen Producer, City People Movie Award for Best Producer of the Year in 2017 and 2018.
The mother of three continues to build the ROK empire alongside her husband and business partner Jason Njoku.
