[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Although it’s Monday, it is still the Independence Weekend. And one thing that is as sure as daylight is that there will be more parties to attend. And if you are one of those whose friends don’t give prior notice before throwing the invites in your face like me, then you need to master the art of getting ready in no time. I have put together my routine for getting ready for impromptu events with little time to spare.
- Always moisturize first
This step takes off about 20% of the work. A moisturized skin leaves a healthy glow and makes your work easy.
- Pack your hair up in a ponytail
No matter the way you are carrying your hair now: natural, weaves, or braids. Once your hair is packed up in a ponytail, your face gets this instant innocent look that is always sexy. Additional bonus, a ponytail takes less than 2 minutes to create so you have extra time to work with.
- Put some light makeup on
Do both your eyes and lips if you can, but if you can’t, the tip is to do one. I’ve always been one to favor my eyes over my lips, but lately, I have been giving extra attention to my lips. Lip gloss is a life-saver when you are in a hurry and it is amazing for long-lasting moisture and shine. If gloss is not your thing, use a lipstick in your favourite color, you will be comfortable in it while it distracts the attention of people from your other not-so-made-up parts of your face.
- Don’t forget your sunglasses
If, like me, you had put most of your attention on your lips as against your eyes while doing your makeup, then a pair of sunglasses will come in handy to keep your tired and no-so-made-up eyes away from prying eyes. Bonus tip: always have your eyebrows done no matter how big your sunglasses are.
- Throw on a LBD or a LWD
By this time, there is almost no time left before your friends come to pick you up and every stylish fashionista knows to always have a Little Black Dress or Little White Dress handy. Slip into one of your choice, step into your shoes, and meet your friends at the door just as they ring the doorbell.
And just like that, you are ready for your party despite not having planned for it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
