There’s nothing like living a purposeful life and blazing a trail. Truth is, there is never a right moment to become what you were destined to be, just “take the moment you have and make it right”. For this special edition I thought it would be a great idea to share some 13 nuggets that have worked for me as an entrepreneur;

OWN THE DREAM

You birthed the dream; so own it with confidence, pride and a sense of purpose. Be positive about it and be your own brand ambassador. There is no way you can make other people believe in you if you doubt yourself and abilities.

GET THE DREAM MAKERS
No matter how laudable a dream is, it cannot manifest without a dream team. Don’t be afraid to employ people who will challenge you and question your ideas. You can grow only with a committed team and at the end of the day don’t take all the credit; acknowledge the effort of your team.

COACHING/ MENTORSHIP COUNT
You need a certified coach on this journey called Entrepreneurship, someone to help you attain the goals you have set for yourself. it’s also advisable to get a mentor; someone who has been where you’re heading.(Thank you Dr.Doyin Abiola for your Mentorship).

VISUALIZE THE VISION
Don’t just have a vision is well articulated and understood by your team. Be True to your vision and keep it in focus at all times. Have it written out and pasted in strategic places in the work place.

PASSION HAS A TWIN
No business can thrive without passion but passion must always be matched with action. Passion has a twin called ACTION. They go hand in hand as passion alone is not sufficient to sustain any business. You need to ACT.

DO IT AFRAID
The battle against fear of failure is real with most entrepreneurs and I fought my own battles. I saw fear as an end in itself and lived in dread of it. Fear held me back and set limitations for me. I finally learnt to confront my fears and look at failure as only a temporary setback. Use your failure as fuel towards your success. Do it afraid.

GO FROM LOCAL TO GLOBAL
Befriend the social media!! Be seen be heard, be known. Take your business from local to global.

NO ONE REMEMBERS THE QUITER
How many people who quit make headlines? No one remembers the man or woman who nearly made it. When tempted to quit, it could just mean you need to reboot and re-strategise. Quitting should not be the first option when you encounter a storm. Storms come and go.

ARE YOU HAVING FUN?
What you do should give you some joy and a sense of accomplishment, if it doesn’t ,then you’re probably in a wrong business. Make sure you’re living in your dream and not someone else’s.

INTEGRITY IS EVERYTHING
Run your business based on good old traditional values of honesty, sincerity and truth. The pressure to take the shortest route is everywhere but you will go further with the right values. Integrity is everything.

YOU’VE GOT HIDDEN WINGS
Nothing imprisons us quite like our mindsets. Most of the battles we fight are in the mind. We are what we believe we are. Successful people are daring and have the mindset of winners. They set no boundaries and are not afraid to break down walls and conquer new territories. Don’t be afraid to FLY…you have hidden wings, flap your arms and watch the wings come out.

BEST IS THE NEW GOOD
Don’t just blend in, be astounding, be the best there is. Don’t settle for less because BEST is the NEW GOOD. Go get that standing ovation. BE innovative and keep evolving.

HOW MANY CAPS ARE YOU WEARING?
Are you a mother, wife and career woman? Don’t burn yourself out…find a work/life balance that best fits your schedule .Quality time over Quantity comes highly recommended.

BONUS
BE RENEWED
Each day is a new beginning and another opportunity to start again even after starting again. Renew your body, mind and spirit. Read voraciously, Network, attend relevant courses, eat healthy and drink a lot of water. Go for regular health checks, exercise, meditate, soak in the WORD and PRAY.
