The cool kids born in the 90s will not forget this gospel group who made waves with their hit songs ‘Angels by my side’ and ‘Let’s live together’. The group whose name K.U.S.H was an acronym for Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes was made up of three ladies, TY Bello, Lara George, and Emem Emma, and a man, Dapo Torimiro. Although their stay together as a group was short-lived, we have their album ‘Experience’ to remind us of how powerful their union was as we look at where they are now.
TY Bello is a Singer, Songwriter, Photographer, and Philanthropist. After the group broke up, she went solo, working on her photography career and her music. She has worked with some of the biggest names in Nigeria in her photography career, even worked with the Nigerian-British rapper, Tinie Tempah. She has also released 3 albums, Greenland in 2008, The Future in 2011, and The Morning Songbook in 2014.
Emem Emma is a one of the most sought-after Talent Managers in the music industry. After the group broke up, she went solo and has worked with people in the music industry like P-Square, Styl Plus, and many more in various capacities.
Lara George is a Singer, Songwriter, and Producer. After the group broke up, she faced her solo music career and has released 6 albums namely ‘Forever In My Heart’ 2008, ‘Lara George’ 2009, ‘Higher – The Dansaki Album’ 2012, ‘Love Nwantintin’ 2014, ‘The Medley Album’ 2014, ‘A Slice Of Heaven’ 2017.
Dapo Torimiro is a Multi-Platinum Songwriter, Record Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Singer. He was the only male in the group. He has worked in the music industry in the US for several years writing and producing music for artists’ album projects, touring with numerous artists, as well as scoring various television and film projects. He has worked with various artistes from John Legend and Justin Bieber, to Brandy and Miley Cyrus.
