It’s party time, and getting ready is half the fun! Dress? Check. Shoes? Check. Hair-do? No? Don’t worry Queen, we got you!
It’s all about the holiday hair this year, and we’ve come up with a quick how-to for three of our favourite looks to ‘sleigh’ the festive season. Our easy DIY styles will keep you looking fabulous from Christmas right into ringing in the New Year!
LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED
First up, we’ve got to start with a clean slate, and that means clean, moisturized hair.
A quick shampooing will remove dirt and product build-up. Cantu’s Grapeseed Strengthening Shampoo has a rich lather that gently cleanses and moisturizes your curls right from the get-go.
Hydrated, moisturized hair is the cornerstone of any look, and you get that from using a good conditioner. Cantu’s Grapeseed Oil Strengthening Conditioner moisturizes, hydrates, and reduces frizz to keep your style looking fresher for longer.
Make time for deep conditioning. Deep conditioning gives your hair a vital moisture boost and nourishes the strands from the inside out. Cantu’s Grapeseed Strengthening Treatment Masque penetrates deep into the hair shaft to restore and strengthen dry, damaged hair. You can also detangle at this stage to get your hair knot-free before styling.
Now your hair is clean, soft, and tangle-free. Time to style!
Don’t get it twisted, the perfect twist-out will always be one of the most popular hairdos for naturalistas. It works for every length of hair and lasts ages if properly cared for.
Depending on your hair length and how voluminous you want your curls to be, section your hair into quarters, then each quarter into small sections the size of the twists you want.
Making sure your hair is damp, apply Cantu’s Grapeseed Curl Activator Cream. Apply to each small section from root to tip with your fingers as you start to twist. Its ultra-moisturizing ingredients make even the driest coils defined and provide hold for long-lasting styles.
Allow your hair to fully dry before carefully untwisting the knots. Use your fingers to separate each twist to maintain the curls.
BANTU KNOTS BAE
Bantu Knots are cute and flirty and are so easy to do! Did you know they are not knots?! They are actually lovely coiled buns secured at the base, perfect for hair of varying lengths and textures.
Section your hair into the size knots you would like and start to twist. Define those twists by applying a generous amount of Cantu’s Grapeseed Strengthening Curl Cream from the root to the tip of each section. Our pro styling tip is to cocktail with a little Grapeseed Strengthening Gel for lightweight, soft coils.
After twisting the full length of your hair, twist clockwise into a knot, wrapping it around, so the end is against the base of your knot. To secure it, use another hair tie or a bobby pin. Et voilà!
For a sleek finish use more of the Grapeseed Strengthening Gel to smooth down those baby hairs and frizzy flyaways.
- LOVE. THIS. LOOK! Want to make a statement when you walk into the party? Well, this is it, and it takes less time than you think!
Section your hair into four parts, three equal parts at the back, and a fourth section at the front to create your twisted bangs. Be sure to section a line in the middle on both sides for cornrows.
Starting at the back, cocktail Cantu’s Grapeseed Strengthening Curl Cream with the Grapeseed Strengthening Gel and apply to damp hair. The flex hold formula is perfect for creating long-lasting styles that stay in place. Smooth the hair into a ponytail and wrap the hair around the base to create a bun.
For the twists, be sure to apply the Curl Cream throughout, and on the ends to seal. Wrap your hair and allow it to dry fully before stepping out and showing your glorious creation to the world.
And there you have it, three popping’ styles to slay whatever looks you have planned for this festive season. However your Christmas is looking this year, taking some time to look and feel great is the best present you can give yourself.
