Waking up every morning, scared to look at the news and terrified with what could happen next. This is where we are at in the world now. Everyday, there is a new disaster or terror attack and we find ourselves asking the question – What is happening?
I woke up this morning to pictures of the flood in Makurdi, Benue. Heartbroken seeing has over 15,000 people have been displaced from their homes losing virtually all their belongings. Roads and drains washed away in the storm, houses submerged in water and families left homeless.
Following the tragic news of Hurricane Harvey where thousands lost their lives and millions lost their belongings all submerged under water.
We then also hear about the flood in South Asia where over two million children have been shut out of school in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. With over 1,200 people having lost their lives and over 40 million affected by the flood, there is no telling what will happen next.
What is happening? There is so much happening in the world right now. Let’s all join hands and find a way to help. Let us not stand back and look from afar because we do not feel physically affected. Donate to the foundations providing help. Money, clothes or food – it shouldn’t matter.
Remember, Let’s put each other in our prayers. The world is becoming a scarier place day after day, we don’t need to be against each other to make things worse.
